U8s Cougars Match Report – 12th November 2023

Great performance by the Cougars today who were raring to go after two consecutive rained-off matches. The focus today was for the boys to work on their attacking decision making – when to shoot and when to pass to a team-mate in a better position. The boys really took on board the message and there were some great examples of unselfish play resulting in more team goals.

Notable examples were Brody supplying a cross from the right for Ryan to score, Louis assisting Ryan’s second as well as a through ball from kick-off for Brody to run onto. Rafi provided two through balls allowing Brody to score twice more and two crosses for Barney to get on the end of. Caleb, Dan and Ben also showed good decision making in attacking positions which could have resulted in more goals. Louis particularly impressed with his passing display, in defence and further forward.

Rafi and Caleb produced solid goalkeeping displays, commanding their areas well and Caleb pulled off a fantastic save, sticking out his leg to stop what seemed a certain goal.

Louis, Dan, Ryan and Ben shared the defensive duties and all stuck to their job admirably.

Great job all round for the Cougars who are continuing to develop and improve.
