U7s Bobcats Match Report – 17 December 2023

The Bobcats put in a performance to be proud of today – robust in their shape, entertaining our amazing supporters with some slick dribbling / passing, a number of pinpoint finishes – all culminating in a much deserved clean sheet.

Teddy was a fans favourite today, with a a real accomplished display – including a number of last ditch challenges to maintain our clean sheet (aided by some really great positioning) and a couple of really nice break through dribbles, taking multiple opposition players out of an attacking phase of play. Great to see Teddy back in the team – you were awesome dude .

Cohan was outstanding today, with multiple players struggling to get near him at times. He supported his team defensively, twisted / turned his way through walls of players to get us up the pitch and found the top corner on two occasions , with his rocket of a shot. You were awesome dude .

Bradley added to his enormous goal tally again today, with two special goals – one finding the net from a curling Beckham-esk corner and the other a powerful long range strike into the bottom corner. He battled hard throughout and gave us the bite required in midfield to win the ball back in important areas. You were awesome dude .

Samuel had a cracking game, breaking up play, with his pace and positional sense – but more impressively was a driving force with the ball at his feet today, dribbling at speed, turning opposition players and finding himself in great positions in the final third on a number of occasions. You are quite a player young man! You were awesome dude .

Seb was an important contributor to our clean sheet today – using his box to great effect, to nullify the long ball threat. He distributed into the channels (the safe areas that we talked about at training) and made a couple of important saves. He also did his utmost to get in amongst the opposition players as an outfield player. You were awesome dude .

Obie epitomises what grass roots football is all about – he’s a bundle of absolute joy, works hard, respects everyone involved and loves the game – you should be very proud Sam. Obie made life difficult for opposition players today, was a key piece of the puzzle in keeping our shape and got himself in a couple of very dangerous goal scoring positions (deserving a goal) . You were awesome dude .

Harry is quickly becoming our rock at the back and was key to keeping us on the ball today. It would be easy for his contributions to go unnoticed – but the chaos’s he causes with his throw in’s, his ability to win the ball, stay calm and pass out from the back, his growing ability to drop his shoulder and pass a player and his willingness to run for the entire game our key to our success. You are awesome dude .

Jenson – I could not have asked for more from you today (I’m very proud of you ). Your attitude was spot on, you made great decisions on the ball (with a number of defence splitting passes – KDB) and impactful runs. You confidently broke up play and were very unlucky not to find the net today (although your corner was powered into a very nice area for the OG). A leader. You were awesome dude .

Another leader in our group is the Reginator. Reggie was back to his best today, crashing around the pitch with a smile on his face – delivering a display full of technical brilliance – accurate passes, well struck shots and perfectly timed tackles. He has a real presence on the pitch, lifting his teammates and unsettling the opposition. You were awesome dude .

A big thank you to Cody today, who successfully negotiated with Teddy, organised the warm up (to set the tone for the match) and offered encouragement throughout & as always Sam – my partner in crime – all the support is appreciated big man!
