U8 Panthers Match Report – 10th Sept 2023
It was a great performance from the Panthers in their second game of the season with the team showing teamwork and cohesion. The whole team kept going and going despite the hot and muggy conditions. A strong game all round with great effort shown from all the players
Leo D
Started off in goal with a solid performance. Moving to an attacking position saw Leo fire in two fine goals and he was a constant thorn in the oppositions side with his direct running and ability to find the space.
Charlie
A commanding start in defence putting in key blocks and challenge. A great display and continued battling away despite taking a ball to the face. Finished off in attack where he worked his socks off for the team and was always calling for the ball. Keeps getting better and better each week.
Leo L
Worked tirelessly throughout, always trying to get on the ball and never shyed of tackling the opposition. Was unlucky not to score, and his tenacity forced the opening goal, an own goal from the opposition. His ability to run with the ball caused the opposition problems all throughout the game. He is the heartbeat of the team.
Cohen
Started the game in midfield and was good at breaking up the play and put in some solid tackles. Was unlucky that his great block rebounded to the opposition for their equaliser. Once he went in goal he was unstoppable pulling off some crucial saves in the last quarter of the game. There is a great goalkeeper in the making.
Gracie
There is a great player in there waiting to burst out, we have seen it in training, she just needs to gain confidence and believe in herself. She showed glimpses of what she is capable of with some great interceptions and turning them into attacks. Her time will come and when it does there will be no stopping her!
Daniel
Took over from Leo in goal to make his debut and settled in well. Was unlucky with a couple of the oppositions goals and made a couple of good saves. Came out on pitch for the second half and continued to work tirelessly for the team making some good challenges and tracking back to help defend. A solid debut for Daniel and will only get better and better.
It’s still early days for the Panthers as a team but it was a great performance with further improvement from the first game, most impressive of all was the level of effort put in by all. The team are starting to gel as they get to know each other and I am excited to see what this team can do going forward as they will only get better and better. Proud manager here, well done Panthers!
