U7 Bobcats Match Report – 23rd Sept 2023

I’m sure there are a few disappointed little faces after today’s game, against a very good opposition. Please reassure your Bobcat that they were unlucky today, should be extremely proud of the way they played and the most important thing is that they enjoyed the various special moments during the game. There will be plenty more days like today I’m sure, but with the amazing group of boys that we have together here, we have many special moments to look forward to together (including this afternoon at Eastleigh FC).

The first mention today has to go to Seb, who put in a magnificent performance in goal (complimented by opposition management and parents after the game). He kept his team in the game, with numerous brave saves, cutting off through balls and as always distributing really well to our wide players. Awesome job Seb

Cohan was another who had a fantastic game. His majestic dribbling skills dragged opposition players around the pitch, carrying us up the field at key moments. Two great finishes (Jenson should have let you have the penalty for your hat-trick ) and he got stuck in all over the pitch to win the ball back for his team. Awesome job Cohan

Teddy worked hard for his team today, breaking up play, showcasing some great passing / dribbling and a couple of efforts on goal. There was a smile on his face and a new found determination. You should be proud of yourself dude! Awesome job Teddy

Bradley was a threat in front of gaol as always and was very unlucky not to add to his growing tally for the season. His strength and use of his body to win the ball back is fantastic to see and as always great listening / positivity throughout. Awesome job Bradley

Samuel is a gem of a team mate, he worked so hard for the group, today combining his speed and strength in a dominant performance at the back. He burst through on goal a couple of times today (something we have been working on) and deserved his first goal of the season (it will come!) Awesome job Samuel

Reggie reminds me of Yaya Toure, he stepped across opposition players, won the ball strongly, turned and glided past 2-3 players on a number of occasions today – a joy to watch. His attitude and energy is amazing. Awesome job Reg

Harry fancies himself as a striker today and did a grand job. He showed great persistence to win the ball back in the opposition half (this would have been two goals in training), was calm in possession and found himself in shooting positions on a regular basis. Awesome job Harry

Obie ran his socks off today and was involved in a number of great moments – battling in the middle of the park, a couple of great turns to get us moving up the pitch and a number of break away moments leading to chances in front of goal. Awesome job Obie

Jenson struggled with his emotions today (Mr competitive) and wants to apologise to his teammates, but did enjoy a number of positive moments during the game, with 2 goals, great ball carrying (under pressure from a physical opposition) and some nice passes / last ditch tackles. Awesome job Jenson

Thanks as always to the support from everyone on the sideline – we are lucky to have such a great set of parents (as well as players). Sam – made his management debut today and as always is a massive boost for the kids and much needed support for me – thanks bud!
