U7s Bobcats Match Report – 18 November 2023

The Bobcats were back to their best today, with a phenomenal team performance.

Two hat-tricks to start the match report.

Firstly Reggie, who was an absolute force to be reckoned with today. An all round performance to be proud of, which included numerous goal saving challenges, powerful runs forward and an insatiable work rate – all topped off with a rocket of a free kick, breaking the metaphorical top bin . Proud of you Regginator

Secondly Jenson who showed his leadership skills today. Three goals, a number of exquisite passes / assists (KDB watch out) and a very positive attitude to boot. Particularly pleasing to see the square ball we practiced in training leading to a goal . Proud of you Jen

We also had two other players that really deserved to join the hat-trick club this week, both finding the net twice.

Firstly Bradley who opened the scoring for us, setting the tone for a very positive game. He showed fantastic resilience, when the opposition keeper pulled off a penalty save to convert the rebound from a tight angle. He was robust with his tackling all over the pitch, helping us match a physical opposition . A constant threat throughout the game. Proud of you Bradley

And secondly Cohan – another who was very resilient today, after being on the receiving end of a couple of tasty challenges he kept getting up and never gave up. He won and converted a fabulous free kick (hard to pick between his and Reg’s) and stroked in a beautiful goal from Jens square ball (reminded me of prime Henry). Mesmerising dribbling as always. Proud of you Cohan

Obie continues to impress with his ability to find himself in great positions – he really deserved a gaol today, only to be denied by the post / goal line clearance. He worked very hard for his team in defensive positions, often finding himself on his own at the back and expertly holding up and thwarting opposition counter attacks. Obie takes on information really well and is getting better and better every time we see him. Proud of you Obie

Teddy was a man on a mission today, showing great focus, energy and determination to win the ball back for his team. His Rory Delap long throw is proving a secret weapon, with Teddy creating a number of opportunities in advanced areas. Really impressed with the progress and desire to play a key role in the team. Proud of you Teddy

Samuel showed his metal today, after taking a few unsettling knocks during the match. If only he knew and appreciated just how good of a player he is (and absolute asset to our team). His performance (as always) included speed, a sense of positioning beyond his years and an unrivalled defensive display. You are a superstar. Proud of you Samuel

And last, but certainly not least, Harry, who had his best game for the Bobcats this season. Solid in , speed of thought on the pitch (playing absolutely everything forwards, as we asked him) and technically improving his touch, tackling, passing and shooting skills every week. As always his positivity energised the entire team. Proud of you Harry

The boys were truly a team today. We have the most amazing group of children together at this club – the future is bright .
