Jake’s Farewell Performance – 2nd July

Another tale of bad luck for the Jaguars today as we crashed out in the semi finals on penalties

A couple of superb performances in particular today against Hedge End and Fleur de Lys.

We only conceded 1 goal the whole tournament which was a last minute goal from a corner.

So pleased with how we battled and upped our physicality levels. We dominated teams and won most first balls.

What pleased me most though was how the boys all stuck together and remained positive even after going out in the cruelest of ways. They rallied around the players who had their pens saved like a true group of friends.

Walking off the pitch we received a large round of applause from all the crowd and received plenty of compliments for our style of play, battling attitude and sportsmanship.

Everybody played an 8 or 9 out of 10 today.

Eddie and Theo looked amazing at the back and had everything under control with the help of Ollie screening in front of them. Thomas had his first ever go in goal today but looked like he had played there many times. He definitely looks like a natural in that position.

Glyn and Mad dog dominated the midfield (Glyn also nearly scored a header!) and Aidan and James also having really strong games as wing backs.

Jake made his farewell appearance for us today after a few years with this team. He finished off in style with a couple of goals and an expert penalty into the corner. We wish him all the best with his new team.

Harry was a constant threat with his pace but even more pleasing he showed the rest of the team that defending starts at the front as he never gave defenders a second to settle on the ball.

So many positives to take from today!
