Could the boys give their soccer moms the best Mother’s Day gift of a good performance at Timsbury rec today?

Yes they could!

A really dominant opening 15 minutes saw us pressure the Warsash defence but we just couldn’t find a way through.

We took the lead in a fortunate way as an error from the keeper let Harrison in to tap into an open net. Credit to Harrison for chasing everything down and putting pressure on but the keeper didn’t deserve it as he played brilliantly for Warsash today.

Warsash had 1 venture into our half and scored. A flick from a throw and a tidy finish from the Warsash striker.

It showed us that we can’t relax for a second as anything can happen in this game.

Harry got a well deserved goal. After a frustrating few weeks for him, he finished beautifully with his left foot.

Glyn slotted home a third from a close range free kick and we could have had more when Mally hit the bar (where was the Russian linesman when you need him??) and Aidan nearly finished a superb passing move. After missing, Aidan produced my match highlight as he performed some kind of feet stomping breakdance. 🕺🏻

The second half was a little frustrating as we didn’t really get out of third gear.

In the end we did all that was needed and we have to congratulate Warsash on a good second half from them as they caused us quite a few problems.

Player of the Day

A huge spread for votes on player of the day today.
Harrison, William, Glyn, James and Riley all received a vote.

Eddie came in third but once again we had joint winners.

Well done Thomas and Lloyd.

Thomas dominated midfield and has formed a great partnership with Glyn. His vision and range of passing is getting better with every game and he also struck a wicked free kick.

Lloyd looked class throughout with his touch and dribbles. He always creates himself a bit of time to deliver a killer pass at just the right time.

Well done boys. Another good result for the mighty Jaguars.
